Is Costco Twisted Churro worth it? Honest Review
Twisted Churro
$1.49 | 570 Cal
Costco’s food court menu is famous for its affordable prices and delicious items but not all menu items are winners. After spending a busy day at the Costco store, there is nothing better than going towards the Costco Food Court area to grab a mocha/latte freeze, special hot dogs, or a $1.99 slice of Pizza. I visited with my friends for a birthday bash and saw a meal there like a long tail, the Twisted Churro. I was excited and happy because it can be shared easily and budget-friendly, too.
The shape of the Costco Twisted Churro is like a rounded snake having the size of 13 inches, quite long! This dessert is covered in cinnamon sugar with an inside filling of vanilla that looks pretty interesting for a black-and-white combination. But its hard dough and a dry surface, make it difficult to finish. Honestly, it’s not up to the mark because it doesn’t taste as good as other churros I have had.
This churro is primarily made from standard ingredients like wheat flour, sugar, vegetable oil, etc., that provide a sweet and doughy taste. Still, from the inside, it is very, very thick and dense and also extremely hard to chew. So, for that reason, my thumbs down. However, let’s have a quick look at its ingredients and nutrition guide;
Ingredients
Wheat Flour | The base ingredient for the dough. |
Sugar | It adds the sweetness to both dough and cinnamon sugar. |
Vegetable Oil | It is used to fry the twisted churro until a light brown color. |
Cinnamon | With the combination of sugar, it provides a spiced flavor |

Final Words
Costco Food Court discontinued the Twisted Churro in early 2024 as the feedback from its fans was embarrassing. However, it is still available in some Costco stores. The taste of this churro was baseless, and when I tried it with the pasta, there was no difference because the churro didn’t add up any mix to the pasta taste.
While every closed door opens the opportunity for another, the suspended twisted churro is the reason for new items in the menu list of Costco Food Court, i.e., special cookies. Costco has replaced the boring twisted churro with special cookies and strawberry soft-serve that are shareable desserts but some loyal churro fans are disappointed with this launch and still miss Costco’s churro.
The debate over the churro and cookie is a high-voltage topic but the cookie has some edge due to its high-quality and taste. So, wait for my next blog about the special cookie in replacement of the churro. If you ever tried the twisted churro, provide your honest opinion in the comment section below.
